Mini Conference: Polarization Reconsidered – Conceptual Advances in European Scholarship

The mini-conference “Polarization Reconsidered: Conceptual Advances in European Scholarship,” hosted by Matthias Revers at the University of Hamburg on 1–2 October 2026, brought together scholars from the DepolarisingEU network to critically examine the conceptual foundations, dynamics, and contemporary manifestations of political polarization and depolarization.

With dedicated sessions for each chapter of the forthcoming book project, the format combined brief author presentations, feedback from two discussants, and open discussion. This created valuable opportunities to exchange perspectives, refine arguments, and strengthen the chapters through constructive dialogue.
